‘I do it for my customers, thats my job.’
That is a honest word of an old ramen guy from Oita, Japan, which i found while i was browsing on YouTube.
The interesting thing is: He only sleeps 3 hours a day. Pure dedication.
His limping steps started the day. With great enthusiasm he began to arrange chairs and tables, a smile that always appeared on his face as he prepared the best-place-ever for his customers later.
I personally really admire Japanese culture. Hard work, discipline, and well-behaved.
This old-ramen guy at the age of 64, still feels the cruelty of the world. Even though he enjoyed it, I think he must also have the desire to continue his old age in peace at home.
His routine is:
At 6 in the morning he sleeps until 9. Then he goes to buy the ingredients and comes back at 11. Then he does the preparations, including roasting the pork. And he finished everything by 2 in the morning.
His simple cart looks tidy at the end of the road, as he prepares special ramen while visitors start arriving at night. He looks happy.
His body that already looks bent doesn’t look tired. Takana ramen and spicy menma that his customer orders, he makes with full of joy.
The dedication is unmatched. He doesn’t want a luxurious life or a lot of money. From what I can see, he just wants his customers to say ‘delicious!’ to his ramen, and hope the customers always come back.
The toughest guy surely not beaten by reality, but he rides and enjoy his beautiful journey till the end.
‘Otsukaresama deshita!’
